Surrogate AndersonESTATE OF LLEWELYN EZRA BOYCE, Deceased (14/364) — The proposed compromise of the claim for decedent’s conscious pain and suffering was approved by Supreme Court, Kings County. The associated attorney’s fees and disbursements, a United Healthcare claim, and a Medicaid lien were also approved by that court.The restrictions contained in the letters issued to the administrator are removed. She is authorized to collect the settlement proceeds and execute the necessary receipts and releases. She also is authorized to pay the sum of $25,596.09 to the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance in satisfaction of its lien, attorney’s fees in the sum of $1,250 for filing fees incurred in this court, and the sum of $5,000 to Sheila Brandenberg, CPA, for services rendered. Surrogate MellaESTATE OF DIANE L. BASIE, Deceased (87/4937/A) — Joy S. Rosenthal as successor guardian of the property of Diane L. Basie has petitioned ex parte for authority to deposit guardianship funds with Charles Schwab & Company, Inc., as custodian, to be invested by Oak Financial Group, Inc., pursuant to an “investment advisory agreement” (see SCPA 1708 [2] [c]). The proposed custodian, however, has declined to agree that the “funds under the control of the custodian shall not be released from custody except on order of the court” (SCPA 1708 [2] [c]); accordingly, the petition is denied.In a supplemental affidavit, petitioner has asked the court to designate two banks, in addition to JPMorgan Chase Bank, at which she may establish guardianship accounts to be held jointly with the clerk of the court — specifically, PNC Bank, 200 Broadway, New York, NY 10038, and First Republic Bank, 225 Broadway, New York, NY 10007.
