Surrogate Malave-Gonzalez THE GUARDIANSHIP OF ALTIME N. C., Pursuant to SCPA Article 17-A (19-987/A) — This is a proceeding pursuant to Article 17-A of the Surrogate’s Court Procedure Act seeking an amended decree appointing a guardian of the property of the respondent. By decree dated August 19, 2019, the court adjudicated the respondent to be intellectually disabled and appointed the petitioner, his mother, as guardian of his person and his sister, the standby guardian. It appears to be in the best interest of the respondent that a guardian be appointed for his property, and that the petitioner and the standby guardian are qualified to assume the responsibility of serving as the respondent’s property guardian. Accordingly, the application is granted and the respondent’s mother, Natalie H., is additionally appointed property guardian, and his sister, Esprit H., is appointed as the standby guardian to act when the guardian is unable to do so. THE GUARDIANSHIP OF BETANIA R. G. Pursuant to SCPA Article 17-A (19-747/A) — By decree dated August 16, 2019 this court determined, inter alia, that the respondent is an intellectually disabled person within the provisions of Article 17-A of the SCPA, and appointed the respondent’s mother, Maria E., as guardian of the respondent’s person and Francisco N.A.G., respondent’s father, as standby guardian of her person. Subsequently the mother filed an amended petition seeking additional property powers. Based upon the documents filed, and it appearing to be in the best interests of the respondent, the application is granted. Accordingly, the decree is amended to provide for the additional appointment of the respondent’s mother as guardian of her property, and her father as standby guardian of her property. The decree dated August 16, 2019 shall remain in full force and effect in all other respects. The Acting Chief Clerk shall mail a copy of this decision and the order amending the decree to the pro se petitioner. Order amending decree signee. October 30, 2019
