ESTATE OF ANN LOUISE WILSON, Deceased (16-157/A) — The executor, the decedent’s spouse, seeks leave to compromise causes of action arising from events leading to the decedent’s death settled in Supreme Court. Bronx County (Capella, J) and to judicially account for the settlement proceeds which are being held in his attorney’s escrow account. The causes of action arose as a result of alleged negligence. The supreme court order, inter alia, directed the payment of attorney’s fees and disbursements, and debts. The decedent died testate on August 23, 2015 as a result of alleged medical practice. The decedent’s distributees are her spouse, the petitioner herein, and one son. The decedent’s son was under the age of 21 at the time of her death, but is now over the age of 18 and consents to the application. Under the circumstances presented, including the consent of the New York State Department of Taxation and Finance and the lack of any unpaid debts, the request to allocate the entire settlement proceeds solely to the wrongful death cause of action is granted. The sum of $4,688.66 is to be paid to the petitioner in reimbursement of funeral expenses. The net distributable proceeds may be paid in the manner requested. Decree signed. July 12 2021
ESTATE OF BERNIE WILSON, Deceased (20-267) — In this application by an alleged creditor for the issuance of limited letters of administration to an eligible distributee or in the alternative, to the Public Administrator. Citation issued to the sole distributee, a son, and there was no appearance on the virtual hearing date nor was any opposition received by the Court to date. The Public Administrator consented to the receipt of limited letters of administration limited solely to accepting process in an action related to rental arrears without any duty to defend. Accordingly, in the absence of any appearance in opposition, letters of administration shall issue to the Public Administrator, limited in the manner consented to herein. Submit decree. July 29, 2021
