ESTATE OF ANGELA PUGNI, Deceased (17-3477/A/B/C) — The court grants this unopposed petition by Bruno Pugni, as Administrator of the estate of Angela Pugni, deceased, to collect and account for an award by the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (the “VCF,” as authorized by Pub L 111-347, 124 Stat 3623 [2011], and further authorized by Pub L 116-34, 133 Stat 1040 [2019] [the "9/11 Acts"]). This award is in lieu of causes of action for the conscious pain and suffering and wrongful death of the decedent based on the cancer that she developed as a result of her proximity to the exposure zone of recovery and debris-removal activities at the World Trade Center site, as defined by the 9/11 Acts. The award proceeds are allocated in accordance with the VCF Award Detail, as requested by Petitioner. The restrictions on the Letters of Administration issued by this court are modified, and the Administrator is authorized to collect the award and execute such receipts and releases as may be required. Attorneys fees are fixed at a rate of 10 percent of the gross award as provided by the 9/11 Acts. Petitioner is permitted to reimburse himself for paid funeral and burial expenses in the amount of $9,746.75. The balance of the sum awarded shall be distributed to decedent’s spouse Bruno Pugni, and daughters, Louise Pugni and Linda Campiglia in accordance with EPTL 4-1.1(a)(1) and EPTL 5-4.4. Decree setting the Administrator’s account signed. Dated: July 6, 2023
