Surrogate Gingold

ESTATE OF YUI CHAN, Deceased (20-4069/A/B/C) — The administrator of the estate of Yui Chan seeks permission to collect and distribute the proceeds of a recovery from the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (“VCF”) and further seeks judicial settlement of his account with respect to such proceeds. The administrator’s petition is granted. The restrictions contained in the letters issued to him are modified to the extent necessary to effectuate the collection of the VCF claim proceeds, and he is authorized to collect the amount due from the VCF and to execute the necessary receipts and releases. The award proceeds are allocated as requested in the petition, in accordance with the VCF Award Detail. The fees of petitioner’s attorney are fixed and determined. Funeral expenses have been paid by decedent’s daughter and the administrator is authorized to reimburse her for such expenses. The balance of the settlement proceeds shall be distributed in accordance with the provisions of EPTL 4-1.1 and EPTL 5-4.4, as set forth in the decree. The account is settled, and the decree is signed. Dated: July 15, 2024
