ESTATE OF THOMAS TAM a/k/a THOMAS M. TAM, Deceased (19-432/A/B/C) — The administrator of the estate of Thomas Tam seeks permission to collect and distribute the proceeds of a recovery from the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund (hereinafter “VCF”) and further seeks judicial settlement of her account with respect to such proceeds. The administrator’s petition is granted. The restrictions contained in the letters issued to her are modified to the extent necessary to effectuate the collection of the VCF claim proceeds, and she is authorized to collect the amount due from the VCF and to execute the necessary receipts and releases. The award proceeds are allocated as requested in the petition and in accordance with the VCF Award Detail. The fees of petitioner’s attorney are fixed and determined as set forth in the decree. The funeral creditor has waived reimbursement of funeral expenses from the estate. Petitioner is not entitled to statutory commissions under SCPA 2307. The balance of the award proceeds shall be distributed to decedent’s spouse and issue as requested in the petition and set forth in the decree. The account is settled and the decree is signed. The Clerk of the Court shall serve a copy of this decision to counsel for the petitioner in this proceeding by email at the address below. Dated: October 10, 2024
