MINEOLA – In one of two recent decisions regarding the former St. Paul’s School property, the Appellate Division, Second Department has affirmed a ruling that permanently blocked the Incorporated Village of Garden City from leasing the site to a senior housing developer.

In the second decision involving the village, the court ruled that the corporate successor to the heirs of the village’s founders has no interest in the property stemming from its use for nonreligious or noneducational purposes; the successor claimed that was a violation of the deed.
