It is widely known that the events of Sept. 11 have led to increased law enforcement activity in the immigration arena. Middle Easterners are being interviewed. There is heightened vigilance at airport inspections and American Consulate visa interviews. New procedures are being put in place to identify undocumented and unlawfully present foreign nationals and to remove them from the U.S.

This article will discuss these developments and how they will impact both foreign nationals, and, in some instances, their U.S. employers.
