Weighing in on allegations of judge shopping, the outgoing administrative judge of Brooklyn Supreme Court has intervened in a dispute over the leadership of the borough’s largest Hasidic sect.

Justice Michael L. Pesce, whose transfer to the Appellate Term, Second Department, was announced yesterday, ruled Wednesday that the tactics of lawyers representing two rival factions in the Hasidic Satmar community created the appearance that the parties were manipulating the court system to find the most favorable judge.
