Law firms are attractive targets for discrimination and sexual harassment claims. The issue is of critical importance to U.S. law firms, as well as foreign firms with offices in the United States.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s recent enforcement activity against Sidley Austin Brown & Wood serves as a stark reminder that, perhaps by virtue of characteristics endemic to law firms, lawyers need to be especially careful to anticipate the potential for such claims.
