dispute over ownership of an historic landmark house and the surrounding 42 acres, overlooking Sag Harbor from exclusive North Haven Village, has locked an order of Episcopal nuns in protracted litigation against the church’s Long Island diocese. Each side has accused the other of wanting to sell the estate, estimated to be worth more than $10 million, to developers.

Supreme Court Justice Patrick Henry recently whittled down a seven-year-old lawsuit filed by the Order of Teachers of the Children of God from nine to three causes of action by granting partial summary judgment to the defendants, the Long Island diocese and its trustees and bishop.
