Joshua M. Pruzansky stressed that both the report approved on Saturday and the recommendations of the Birnbaum panel are in the “work in progress” category and suggested that much needs to be done before the fiduciary system is modernized.

ALBANY – The New York State Bar Association on Saturday embraced most of the reforms recommended by Chief Judge Judith S. Kaye’s commission on fiduciary appointments, but opposed a compensation cap on appointments and objected to a provision that would have limited the ability of former judges and their relatives to serve as fiduciaries.
