Paranoia. It’s the operative word for the United States these days. I know that I haven’t slept well. Too many sirens. Where are they going? What are they doing?

Name your columnist or talking head – they’re right. The reality of Sept. 11, 2001, has colored many of the perceptions that we held in the past. There are, however, two major concepts, paranoid ideals if you will, that may never change: lawyers are greedy and major corporations have more say in our lives than the federal government and together they run the world.
