ALBANY – With more interest in the Darrel K. Harris capital appeal than available seats, the Court of Appeals has taken the unique step of providing live television broadcast of the arguments at two remote sites today, as well as real-time and delayed Internet Webcasts.

People v. Darrel K. Harris, 80, the first appeal of a death sentence ordered under the 1995 statute, will consume virtually the entire day and is the only case on the Court’s calendar for today. Arguments begin at 10 a.m. and those who do not make it into the courtroom can watch a live broadcast in the fourth floor courtroom of the Albany County Court House, which is next door to Court of Appeals Hall, or in Room No. 4 in the Empire State Plaza, which is across the street.
