Not content with an order of public censure against a Manhattan lawyer who called a federal judge “corrupt” in a telephone conference, the Appellate Division, First Department, has suspended the lawyer for three months, imposing a more stringent sanction than that imposed by the U.S. District Court.
Philip J. Dinhofer was suspended yesterday by a unanimous ruling of a five-judge panel for his remarks in an April 7, 1997, telephone conference with U.S. District Court Judge Loretta Preska.
