In one of the first domain name disputes resolved under the new arbitration procedures of the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN), an Albany area retailer has won the cyberspace rights to his trademark.
The matter involved a company called musicweb, which sells compact discs and tapes on-line. Because someone else already had registered the domain name “musicweb.com,” the owner of the company established a Web site at “musikweb.com,” substituting a “k” for the “c” in his trademarked corporate identity.
