A challenge to a federal prosecution under the Electronics Communications Privacy Act involving eavesdropping of alphanumeric pagers has been rejected by a New York Southern District judge.

Senior Judge Shirley Wohl Kram refused to dismiss a case against a New York City police officer who allegedly used software to read paging messages by the police department.
