An Eastern District judge has criticized attempts by L’Or�al and its outside counsel to persuade Justice Department officials to bring criminal charges against two hair care products distributors as leverage in a civil suit.

Eastern District Judge Leonard D. Wexler, in Matrix Essentials v. Quality King Distributors, CV 90-1070, also vacated a 17-year-old injunction against the distributors, in effect ending the lawsuit.
