A suit claiming Essex County Superior Court Judge Francine Schott demoted her secretary for taking time off to care for a sick relative has been mutually dismissed by the parties.

No payment will be made to the plaintiff, Lisa Fisher, for her decision to drop the suit. But her lawyer said she will receive $100,000 and be restored to the position of judicial secretary as settlement of a separate but related dispute with the state.
