Deal Closes Between Tech Company, Ad Platform

Adiant, a digital media technology company based in Somerville, has purchased a “CAPTCHA” ad platform that will transform its bot-protection software into a consumer touchpoint, it said Nov. 10. The deal will help expand Adiant's online advertising business, the company said in a news release. Adiant has plans to expand its New York City office and will also expand into Philadelphia as a result of the deal.

Prime Healthcare Wins St. Michael's Hospital Bid

Prime Healthcare Services was selected as the new owner of Newark's St. Michael's Medical Center with a winning bid of $62 million. Prospect Medical Holdings bid $63 million, but a break-up fee reduced its bid to $500,000 lower than Prime's. St. Michael's was forced into Chapter 11 bankruptcy in August when the state did not approve its sale to California-based Prime.

Radio Frequency Firm Agrees to $32M Deal

Anadigics Inc., a radio frequency solutions company based in Warren, has approved a deal to become a wholly owned subsidiary of a California semiconductor solutions firm. GaAs Labs will pay 35 cents in cash for each common share of Anadigics. Anadigics will then merge with GaAs Labs. The transaction is expected to close in December or January.
