Five New Jersey-based firms made the cut for the recently released rankings of the top-grossing firms in the United States, with two gaining ground and three sliding. Another missed the cut after making it last year.

Among the “second hundred” firms released by affiliate publication The American Lawyer are Lowenstein Sandler of Roseland, McCarter & English of Newark, McElroy, Deutsch, Mulvaney & Carpenter of Morristown, Gibbons of Newark, and Archer of Haddonfield. Only one of those firms, Gibbons, had a position change of greater than two.

A sixth New Jersey firm ranked last year, Sills Cummis & Gross of Newark, fell off the board, despite a revenue increase.
