Gov. Chris Christie nominated seven—including Gregory Acquaviva, his chief counsel since March—to the Superior Court bench. He also nominated a sitting Superior Court judge and a Tax Court judge for tenure.
In addition to Acquaviva, of Neptune, the other new Superior Court nominees are Ralph Amirata of East Hanover, Avis Bishop-Thompson of Teaneck, Patrick Hermesmann of Columbus, Valter Must of Toms River, Mitchell Steinhart of Fair Lawn, and Robert Vinci of Mendham.
Nominated for tenure are Burlington County Superior Court Judge Philip Haines and Tax Court Judge Christine Nugent.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays.
