Lawyers and activists protested to New Jersey lawmakers on Monday about the federal government’s recent moves to seize and detain undocumented immigrants who appear at the state’s courthouses.

The Assembly Judiciary Committee held a public hearing on recent detainments of undocumented aliens at state courthouses on at least three occasions since President Donald Trump was sworn in to office and pledged to crack down on illegal immigration.
