The products liability group at McCarter & English of Newark last year represented some big-name clients in high-leverage matters. In one case, the group represented Sylvania Corp., a maker of lighting products, in a case over burn injuries allegedly caused by a Sylvania light bulb—succeeding in dismissing some claims, having the case removed to federal court, and resolving it by settlement. Other cases involved a range of products, including consumer products and home furnishings.

** The responses were provided by Edward Fanning Jr., senior partner and immediate past chair of the products liability, mass torts and consumer class actions practice group; Michelle Movahed, pro bono director; and Christine Lydon, director of human resources. The responses are group responses unless otherwise noted. **
