New Jersey senators on Monday sent a bill to Republican Gov. Christie that, if signed, would greatly expand the state's 8-year-old paid family leave program.
The Senate, with votes split along party lines, passed it 22-15.
The bill passed the state Assembly last Thursday in a 49-23 vote.
