Keatts Joins Rutter & Roy in Freehold

Rutter & Roy in Freehold adds Brian Keatts, who joins the firm as an associate. Most recently, Keatts served as an associate with Parker, Ibrahim & Berg in Somerset, where he focused on representing design professionals and financial institutions in litigation and transactional matters in various state and federal jurisdictions. He is admitted to practice in New York and New Jersey, as well as the U.S. District Court for the Southern, Eastern and Northern Districts of New York, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey and the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Western Districts of Texas. He is a member of the American Bar Association, New York State Bar Association and New Jersey State Bar Association. He earned his J.D. from New York Law School and holds a B.A. in journalism from The Ohio State University.

Kaufman Joins Cooper Levenson

Elizabeth Kaufman has joined the defense litigation group at Cooper Levenson. She will work in the firm's Atlantic City and Cherry Hill offices. Kaufman came to the firm from Delany McBride in Woodbury. She graduated from Drew University with a B.A. and earned her J.D. from the University of Bridgeport School of Law (Quinnipiac) in Bridgeport, Connecticut. Kaufman is admitted to practice in New Jersey and Pennsylvania.

Chand Joins Mason Griffin in Priceton

Salma Chand has joined Princeton law firm Mason, Griffin & Pierson. Chand was previously an associate with Cole Schotz in Hackensack. She earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law and a B.A. from Rutgers University. She previously served as a law clerk in the Office of County Counsel for Essex County, as a judicial intern to Presiding Appellate Division Judge Carmen Messano, and as a judicial intern to U.S. District Judge Claire C. Cecchi of the District of New Jersey. She is admitted in New Jersey and New York, and practices in the areas of local government law, real estate law, and land use law. She recently served as a member of the New Brunswick Planning Board.

Goldberg Segalla Welcomes Onyeani

Goldberg Segalla adds associate Ogechi Onyeani to the workers' compensation practice group in Newark. She was previously a public defender in Newark, and graduated from Michigan State University College of Law. Before earning her J.D., Onyeani was a summer associate at Dickinson Wright in Detroit. She was also a law clerk at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, and continued to cultivate her interest in environmental law as a legal fellow at the Eastern Environmental Law Center in Newark. Throughout her legal career and earlier studies, Onyeani has demonstrated a dedication to defending the vulnerable and disenfranchised, in extensive pro bono work throughout New Jersey. As a student, she traveled to New Orleans to help victims of Hurricane Katrina prepare and file tax returns. In addition, as a law guardian in Essex, Hudson and Passaic counties, she represented children who were victims of abuse and/or neglect. As a public defender for the city of Newark, Onyeani has been a legal representative for indigent citizens facing criminal and motor vehicle charges.
