First Assistant Prosecutor Robert Johnson was appointed acting prosecutor for Cape May County by Gov. Chris Christie.

Johnson will succeed Robert Taylor, who had been the prosecutor since 2004 and who retired effective Sept. 29, the governor's office said in an announcement from that day.

“With a quarter century of experience in the Cape May County Prosecutor's Office, prosecuting high-profile cases and serving in top supervisory roles, Rob Johnson will be an excellent leader for the office,” Christie said.
