Chiesa Firm Welcomes Ronald Tobia as Partner
Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi brought on management labor relations attorney Ronald Tobia, who joins the firm as a partner, expanding the capabilities and offerings of the firm's newly named Labor & Employment Group. He will be based in the firm's West Orange office. Tobia has extensive experience in management labor relations in both the public and private sectors, handling all types of litigation, including NLRB and PERC proceedings, strikes and picketing, federal and state labor, discrimination and harassment litigation, contract negotiations, administration, and arbitrations. He also has considerable experience in ERISA litigation involving withdrawal liability assessment against companies. Prior to joining Chiesa Shahinian, Tobia practiced at Tobia & Sorger in Harrison, a boutique labor and employment law firm which he co-founded.
Hill Wallack Welcomes Nancy F. Goldstein
Hill Wallack brought on Nancy F. Goldstein as a partner in the Princeton office. She is a member of the real estate and corporate law practice groups. She joins the firm from Goldstein & Herst in Princeton, of which she was the founding member. Goldstein's real estate practice focuses on the representation of individuals and business entities in the purchase, sale and financing of residential and commercial properties throughout New Jersey. She has extensive experience representing employees of local and national companies and academic institutions being relocated to the Central Jersey area. Her practice also includes advising real estate investors and international clients. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey. She earned her J.D. from Rutgers Law School-Newark, where she was the recipient of the Graduate Scholars Award. She earned her B.A.in behavioral and social sciences from the University of Maryland. Goldstein is active in several professional organizations, including the Mercer County, New Jersey State and Princeton bar associations. She is a frequent speaker at local real estate offices on new and evolving changes in real estate transactions.
Goldberg Segalla Welcomes Whitney Lyn Allen
Goldberg Segalla has added associate Whitney Lyn Allen to the professional liability practice group in Princeton. Allen was previously with O'Brien and Ryan in Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania. Allen focuses her practice on defending medical professionals in the long-term care industry against a wide variety of high-exposure malpractice claims. In her practice, Allen guides individual medical professionals through the litigation process and tailors defense strategies that are vigorous, cost-efficient, and sensitive to the professional ramifications of publicity and exposure. Her litigation experience also extends to personal injury and general liability matters. Prior to entering private practice, Allen worked with the Pennsylvania Innocence Project, and also served an externship in the Montgomery County (PA) Public Defender's Office. Allen earned her bachelor's degree at Syracuse University and earned her J.D. at Villanova University School of Law.
Hill Wallack Expands Presence in North Jersey
Hill Wallack has relocated its North Jersey office from Morristown to 240 Cedar Knolls Road, Suite 209 in Cedar Knolls. The firm's new location and larger office will seek to better serve current clients' needs, enhance access to and service of the northern New Jersey legal market, and accommodate the firm's growth for the foreseeable future.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
