Goldberg Segalla Welcomes Elizabeth A. Chang

Goldberg Segalla adds associate Elizabeth A. Chang to the firm's general liability practice group in Princeton. Chang was previously with Marshall, Dennehey, Warner, Coleman & Goggin in Roseland. She focuses her practice on employment and labor, professional liability, and casualty matters. Equipped with broad litigation experience, Chang also draws on deep in-house insight into employment and labor issues, civil rights claims, and professional liability matters. She worked as an employment practices liability claims specialist in the North American arm of one of the world's largest insurers, where she focused on employment discrimination claims involving the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Age in Employment Discrimination Act (ADEA), Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, and the Conscientious Employee Protection Act, and advised corporate and public entities on claims liability, coverage, mediation strategy, and settlement negotiations. After earning her bachelor's at the University of Michigan, Chang earned her law degree at Rutgers Law School-Camden. Following graduation, she served as a law clerk for Judge Lisa F. Chrystal of the New Jersey Superior Court, and became a certified mediator.

Norris McLaughlin & Marcus Welcomes Associate Catherine L. Corey

She joins the firm's bankruptcy and creditors' rights practice group, focusing her practice on bankruptcy and creditors' rights, mortgage foreclosure, loss mitigation, and related litigation matters. Prior to joining the firm, Corey represented the Indenture Trustee in a large, complex bankruptcy case; multiple landlords in retail bankruptcy cases; and many unsecured creditors' committees. She interacted with the U.S. Trustee, the governmental authority charged with overseeing bankruptcy cases; negotiated with opposing counsel; and prepared all documents necessary for the bankruptcy case. Corey earned her B.A. from Grand Valley State University in 2007 and her J.D. from New York Law School in 2010. She also earned her LL.M. from St. John's University School of Law in 2011, where she was honored with the CALI Award for the highest grade in bankruptcy accounting and Supreme Court amicus brief, and a Dean's Merit Scholarship, for her outstanding performance.

Sherman Wells Welcomes Two New Associates, Paralegal

Sherman Wells Sylvester & Stamelman in Florham Park brings on board tax associate Bozena (Bonnie) Diaz, a former associate at Gibbons in Newark; litigation associate John M. Vieira, a former associate at Clyde & Co. in New York City; and trust and estates paralegal Katrina Gieniec.

BOZENA M. DIAZ

Bozena M. Diaz began her career at a large New York law firm, where she specialized in M&A and capital market transactions for Fortune 500 companies. She currently specializes in tax planning for middle-market corporations, limited liability companies, partnerships, not-for-profit institutions, and individuals. She counsels clients on issues related to acquisitions, tax-free reorganizations, restructurings of their operations, and business and real estate joint ventures. Diaz's experience also includes tax controversy matters, and representation of clients before the IRS. She also regularly counsels clients on issues of employee benefits and plan qualification, executive compensation, and employment and severance agreements. Diaz received her J.D. from the Georgetown University Law Center, and her LL.M. in taxation from New York University School of Law.

John M. Vieira focuses his practice on commercial and banking litigation. He has significant experience representing clients in high-value, complex commercial litigations before state and federal courts. Vieira was previously associated with the New Jersey office of an international law firm where he counseled some of the world's leading insurance companies in a wide array of coverage disputes. Prior to practicing law, Vieira was an equity trader and held the FINRA Series 7 and 55 securities licenses. He received his J.D., cum laude, from the Rutgers Law School-Newark.

 

Katrina A. Gieniec is a paralegal in the tax and trusts and estates practice group at Sherman Wells. She has more than 12 years of experience, with her primary focus on

estate and trust administration. Gieniec supports the attorneys in her group in the administration of estates from start to finish, including the probate proceeding, marshalling and valuing assets, preparing federal and state estate and inheritance tax returns and accountings, and assisting with federal and state estate tax audits. Prior to joining Sherman Wells, Gieniec was a paralegal with Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper in New York City. She began her career working in New York City at Holland & Knight  and later at Day Pitney. She received an M.A. in business and finance from the Academy of Economics in Kraków, Poland.
