New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Thursday nominated a new prosecutor for Gloucester County and a Woodbury attorney for the Superior Court bench.

The nominee for Gloucester County prosecutor is Williamstown solo Charles Fiore. If confirmed, Fiore, of Mullica Hill, would succeed Sean Dalton, one of the state's longest-serving county prosecutors. Dalton has held the position since 2002.

Fiore has been a solo since 1991 and focuses his practice on civil and criminal litigation, construction law, municipal law, labor law and family law. From 1990 to 1991, he was with DeMarco & Fiore, and from 1987 to 1990, with DeMarco & DeStefano. He also is the Monroe Township solicitor. Fiore is a graduate of the George Mason University School of Law and Rutgers University—Camden.

The nominee for Superior Court is William Ziegler, who currently is with Holston, MacDonald, Uzdavinis, Ziegler & Myles in Woodbury.

Ziegler, who has been with various incarnations of the firm since 1996, focuses his practice on land use law, real estate, civil litigation, municipal law, construction law, general equity and appellate law. He also is the solicitor for various towns in Gloucester and Salem counties. Ziegler is a graduate of Rutgers Law—Camden and Clemson University.

Both nominations must be considered by the Senate Judiciary Committee and approved by the full Senate. The nominations must be considered before the current legislative term ends in January, otherwise they expire.
