Mandelbaum Salsburg Adds Flaxman
Mandelbaum Salsburg announced that David Flaxman joined as of counsel in the banking and financial services practice in New York City. For more than 50 years, Flaxman has represented financial institutions, specializing in the negotiation and documentation of lending transactions and problem loan workouts. Prior to joining the firm he was the deputy general counsel of Crocker National Bank in California and most recently served as general counsel and executive vice president at Rosenthal & Rosenthal in New York, a large factoring firm. He has served as an expert witness in cases involving factoring issues. Flaxman is a fellow of the American College of Commercial Finance Lawyers and past president of the Association of Commercial Finance Attorneys.
|Cottell Joins Capehart Scatchard as Partner
Capehart Scatchard in Mount Laurel welcomed Jennifer A. Cottell to the workers' compensation department as a partner. She focuses on the representation of employers, self-insured companies, and insurance carriers in workers' compensation matters. Cottell was previously a partner at Cooper & Cottell in Somerville. She earned her J.D. from Albany Law School of Union University and her B.S. degree, cum laude, from Rutgers University. She is a member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, Workers' Compensation Section, the Central Jersey Claims Association, and the New Jersey Defense Association. She is admitted in New Jersey and New York.

Riker Danzig Elects Two New Counsel
Morristown-based Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti appointed two new counsel, effective January 2018.

Jaan M. Haus, counsel in Riker Danzig's environmental group, is experienced in environmental litigation, regulatory compliance and transactional matters. He represents clients in all aspects of site remediation projects, including the Licensed Site Remediation Professional program. He assists clients with brownfields development projects and land use permitting, as well as the environmental aspects of corporate and real estate matters, including drafting contract provisions and advising clients with regard to due diligence. Haus graduated cum laude from Pace University School of Law in 2008, where he also received a certificate in environmental law. He earned his B.A. from the University of Richmond in 2005. He is licensed in New Jersey and New York.
Rudy S. Randazzo
Rudy S. Randazzo is counsel in Riker Danzig's governmental affairs and litigation groups. Randazzo has experience in complex appeals, constitutional law, eminent domain, construction litigation, and real estate-based litigation. He earned his law degree from Fordham University School of Law in 2008, where he was a member of the Fordham Environmental Law Review. Randazzo graduated from Rutgers University in 2005 with a B.A. in archaeology. He is licensed to practice in New Jersey and New York.

The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024.
