This year’s recipients of the NJSBA 2018 Pro Bono Awards include two lawyers who have dedicated significant portions of their practice to helping immigrants and the underserved, and a corporate legal department that assisted nearly 250 pro bono clients. Together, they gave more than 1,000 hours of time to underserved populations in New Jersey in 2017.

The individual award will go to Jason Scott Camilo, a Middlesex County attorney who served over 30 pro bono clients, and donated more than 500 hours in 2017. According to Camilo’s nomination, submitted by the American Civil Liberties Union of New Jersey, he has consistently volunteered with Kids in Need of Defense, Rutgers Law and the American Immigration Lawyers Association Military Assistance Program.
