'Meyner Leaguers' Run for Leukemia and Lymphoma Society
The Meyner and Landis “Meyner Leaguers” participated in the 2018 New Jersey Corporate FunRun 5K on July 24 in West Orange, raising money to benefit the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
|Mandelbaum Salsburg Wears Jeans to Benefit Gun Buy-Back
The attorneys and staff of Mandelbaum Salsburg in Roseland participated in a denim day on July 27, with proceeds donated to the Essex County Bar Foundation's gun buy-back program. The initiative was announced in April. The bar foundation and the Essex County Prosecutor's Office are co-sponsoring a one-day buy-back scheduled for the fall. “Team Mandelbaum,” the firm's charitable giving committee, hosts a denim day once a month for various charities throughout Essex County, according to a firm release.
|Javerbaum Wurgaft Runs For Boys and Girls Club
The Javerbaum Wurgaft Charitable Foundation recently held its second annual “We Got Your Back” 5k run on June 5 at Branch Brook Park in Newark, with proceeds to fill 500 backpacks for kids from the Newark Boys and Girls Club. Children from the Boys and Girls Club, over 100 runners, Javerbaum Wurgaft volunteers, and over 30 sponsors made the day possible, the firm said.
|Norris McLaughlin Participates in United Way Day of Action
The marketing and recruitment departments of Norris McLaughlin & Marcus participated in the national United Way ”Day of Action,” an annual event held each June 21. As part of “ NM&M Cares,” the group joined the United Way of Northern New Jersey at the Somerset County Ted Blum 4-H Center in Bridgewater to “Take Action for ALICE Kids”—helping local ALICE (Asset Limited, Income Constrained, Employed) families and their children. United Ways in several other states have joined the project, which was initiated by the northern New Jersey chapter. Volunteers assembled “healthy food action kits,” including two books, bookmarks and handmade flashcards, pencils, crayons, activity and coloring books, and reading guides for parents, all in a backpack designed by the volunteers. They were distributed to elementary school-age children at nonprofit partners within the community.
