Capehart & Scatchard Holds School Supply Drive
Employees of Capehart Scatchard in Mount Laurel recently donated school supplies to benefit Operation Fill-A-Backpack, sponsored by nonprofit Oaks Integrated Care, which benefits children, adults and families living with a mental illness, addiction or developmental disability. On Aug. 14, the firm held a “Jeans Day” fundraiser to support the cause. Attorneys and staff donated $2 to wear jeans to work for the day. More than $200 was raised, and will be sent, along with the school supplies, to Oaks Integrated Care, the firm said.
|Hill Wallack Supports Backpack Drive
Hill Wallack in Princeton supported the Jewish Family & Children's Service's “Back-to-School Backpack Drive,” a new event benefiting children of the JFCS food pantry and Dress for Success Central New Jersey. Hill Wallack partners, Michael Kahme and Ronald Perl delivered backpacks and assorted supplies to the JFCS. Kahme, the firm's managing partner, said: “This year marks another successful backpack and school supply drive for JFCS and we are fortunate to be a part of this program and to help make it a success. Children are our greatest asset and helping them with their education is most rewarding for us.”
|Lisovicz Recognized by Partners For Health Foundation
In its 10th anniversary year, Partners for Health Foundation is to present its ”Founder's Award” to longtime board member Paul A. Lisovicz of Kinney Lisovicz Reilly & Wolfe in Parsippany, a trustee from 2005-15 and chair from 2009-13. The award was established to recognize individual efforts to shape the foundation through commitment, innovation, professional expertise, philanthropy and leadership. The award will be presented in November. Lisovicz said in a statement: “I'm proud to have been part of the development of Partners for Health, proud of what we accomplished during my tenure, and most of all, proud that the Foundation has developed a reputation as an anchor institution addressing the health of our community.” Lisovicz is a partner at the firm, handling products liability and commercial litigation. He resides with his wife, Joan, in Glen Ridge, where they raised their three children, Jessica, Edan and Phillip, and where Paul has been a member of the Borough Council for the past 12 years.
Bressler Amery Hosts Boy Scout Troop From Puerto Rico
Bressler, Amery & Ross in Florham Park recently hosted a group of Boy Scouts and leaders from Puerto Rico.The group spent the week of July 23 at Sabattis Adventure Camp in the Adirondacks, approximately 75 miles from Lake George in New York, the firm said. Bressler Amery was one of the main sponsors and paid the camp fees for the group, Troop 920, Puerto Rico Council, the firm said. The troop's scout summer camp, like other Boy Scouts facilities, suffered severe damage during Hurricane Maria in September 2017. In many towns and villages, Scouting units were among the first organized groups to respond after the storm, clearing debris, and distributing food and water. Leading the effort for Bressler Amery was partner Mark Tallmadge, a practice group leader and chief financial officer for the firm, where he handles defense of professional liability and insurance coverage litigation. Tallmadge, an Eagle Scout, serves as the executive vice president for Patriots' Path Council, Boy Scouts of America, and is to assume the position of president in 2019. Patriots' Path Council serves 16,000 scouts in Northern and Central New Jersey, the firm said.
