Gibbons Adds Two in Newark
Gibbons added two associates in Newark office: Zachary W. Antilety, in the commercial and criminal litigation department, and Jordan M. Asch, in the environmental department.
Antilety previously was an associate at London Fischer in New York, focusing on commercial litigation and construction law. He represented clients in construction defect, construction delay and impact claims, and breach of contract actions, among others. Antilety was a legal intern in the Student Honors Program at the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Division of Enforcement, and a legal intern in the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Eastern District of New York. He earned his J.D., cum laude, from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and his B.A. from Union College. He is admitted in New Jersey and New York.
Prior to joining Gibbons, Asch was an associate at Lieberman & Blecher in Princeton,
focusing on environmental and land use matters. He represented clients in complex litigation involving environmental liability, real property and land use matters, and due process, among others. Asch previously was a law clerk at Meyer Glitzenstein & Eubanksin Washington, DC, and a legal intern at the Clean Air Task Force in Boston. He received his J.D., magna cum laude, from Vermont Law School, where he was head notes editor of the Vermont Journal of Environmental Law, and his B.A. from the University of Colorado at Boulder. He is admitted in New Jersey and New York, and the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey.
Pro Bono Partnership Names New Board Members
Pro Bono Partnership announced that John P. Frantz and Chan Lee have been elected to its board of directors. Nancy Eberhardt, executive director of Pro Bono Partnership in the organization's Parsippany office, said: “They are both enthusiastic and active supporters of the Partnership, and also great champions of pro bono within their companies, which is what makes our work possible. I'm looking forward to the contributions Chan and John will make to help us fulfill our mission of strengthening nonprofits and communities as the Partnership continues to grow.”
Frantz is senior vice president and general counsel, media & telematics at Verizon. He leads the legal team supporting Verizon's telematics, digital content, patent, and law enforcement functions. He has chaired Verizon's pro bono program since its creation in 2009. According to a release, roughly 400 volunteers participate in the program each year, mentoring students in disadvantaged communities, assisting survivors of domestic violence, helping returning veterans secure benefits, and solving legal issues for nonprofits. Prior to Verizon, Frantz was an associate at Kirkland & Ellis in Washington, D.C., and a law clerk in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. He is a graduate of Boston College and Harvard Law School.
Lee is North America general counsel and a legal steering committee member at Sanofi. He leads the North America legal team, including litigation, government investigations, regulatory, employment law, and legal operations. The team provides proactive, solutions-oriented legal counseling and engages in thoughtful risk-taking to help achieve business objectives, the release said. Lee previously was senior vice president and chief counsel for Pfizer's Global Innovative Health, and a law clerk to Judge William T. Allen of the Delaware Chancery Court. He is a graduate of Cornell University and University of California, Berkeley, School of Law. In February 2018, the Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund recognized Lee as a “Justice in Action” honoree.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

Yalowitz of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer have entered their appearances for Hanaco Venture Capital and its executives, Lior Prosor and David Frankel, in a pending securities lawsuit. The action, filed on Dec. 24 in New York Southern District Court by Zell, Aron & Co. on behalf of Goldeneye Advisors, accuses the defendants of negligently and fraudulently managing the plaintiff's $1 million investment. The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls. Wolf of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani to fend off a pending breach-of-contract lawsuit. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
