New Jersey State Bar Association President John E. Keefe Jr. will speak on the topic of opiates during an educational session at the New Jersey Association of Legal Administrators' 25th annual Business Partner Exposition on Sept. 25.

The event will be held at Mayfair Farms in West Orange, from 6 to 9 p.m. “The Opioid Crisis” program will run from 4:30 to 5:45 p.m. Keefe will talk about the pharmacology of opiates, how the heroin abuse epidemic started, and the current litigation climate.

In addition, the session will feature Elaine Durkas, director of human resources at Fusion Employment Services. Durkas will discuss identifying substance abuse in the workplace, as well as its impacts and related compliance issues.
