Two candidates are running for the General Council seat on the New Jersey State Bar Association (NJSBA) Nominating Committee. Voting opens Oct. 17.

The candidates are Anthony Carlino of Bergen County and Stephanie Hagan of Morris County.

Carlino is a former NJSBA president and trustee who also served for four years, including one year as chair, on the NJSBA's Judicial and Prosecutorial Appointments Committee. He is a current trustee and former president of the Bergen County Bar Association.

Hagan is the immediate past-chair of the NJSBA Family Law Section and has served a one-year term on the Nominating Committee as the Family Law Section representative. She is president-elect of the Morris County Bar Association and past president of the Morris County Bar Foundation.

The selected candidate will serve on the NJSBA Nominating Committee for a two-year term.

There will be no in-person voting this year. Members of the General Council will receive an email with a link to the online ballot. Ballots will be cast online and administered by Intelliscan Inc. Paper ballots must be received no later than 5 p.m. Oct. 24 to be counted.

The General Council includes leaders of the NJSBA, New Jersey State Bar Foundation, and county and specialty bar associations, as governed by the association's bylaws. The group makes recommendations to the associations Board of Trustees on matters affecting the membership and the legal community at large.
