The New Jersey State Bar Association takes pride in always having events that promote collegiality, but things are particularly festive during this season of cheer. From the Board of Trustees' holiday gathering to the Solo and Small-Firm Section party at Aja Asian Cuisine, there were opportunities galore to observe the year-end holidays this year.

Some sections embraced the giving spirit by incorporating a charitable element into their celebrations. The Labor and Employment Law Section asked guests attending their party at the Maplewood Country Club to bring new, unwrapped toys or books for the children of Wynona's House. The Paralegal Committee asked for donations to the Barnes & Noble Holiday Book Drive during their celebration, while the Casino Law Section asked guests at their event to bring donations for Catholic Charities' Community Services Center.

The Family Law Section party included a silent auction and raffle and raised $10,000 to benefit UrbanPromise, a Camden County organization that provides after-school and learning programs to children and young adults.

“They try to equip young adults and children to move forward with work and give them educational experience … give them guidance to better themselves,” said Michael A. Weinberg, chair of the section. “I was moved by that.”
