McCarter & English Promotes Movahed to Partner
McCarter & English pro bono director Michelle Movahed was promoted to partner. She remains pro bono director following the promotion, according to a firm announcement, in which managing partner Joseph Boccassini said Movahed ”has transformed the firm's pro bono efforts, expanding our opportunities to engage in meaningful service to communities and individuals in need. She works tirelessly to ensure that our pro bono resources are dedicated to their highest and best use.” Movahed was recently part of a five-person McCarter team that spent a week in rural Ocilla, Georgia, working with the Southern Poverty Law Center to assist and defend immigrants held at the Irwin County Detention Center, where asylum-seekers who have a particularly low success rate on their claims to stay in the U.S., according to the firm. Movahed and Boccassini joined with partner Nicholas Insua, chair of the firm's pro bono committee, partner Amy Haberman and pro bono paralegal Ana Caquias in working on behalf of immigrant asylum-seekers.
Hoagland Longo Appoints Moore to Executive Committee
Hoagland, Longo, Moran, Dunst & Doukas partner Chad M. Moore, who heads the civil litigation and commercial litigation practice group and is partner in charge of the Hammonton office, was appointed to the firm's nine-member executive committee as of Jan. 1. Moore chairs the technology committee, and is a member of the the diversity and inclusion committee and the marketing and business development committee. His practice includes all areas of litigation, particularly trials. “It is an honor to serve on our firm's Executive Committee,” said Moore in a statement. “I am excited to join such a dedicated group of leaders and I look forward to contributing to the firm's continued success in this new management role.” Managing partner Gary Hoagland said in the statement, “We are pleased to welcome Chad to our Executive Committee. Chad's considerable experience and talent will help drive our firm's continued success. We look forward to his contributions.”
Laddey Sworn In at Firm Founded by His Father
Ryan R. Laddey was recently sworn in as an attorney by Thomas N. Ryan, managing partner of Laddey, Clark & Ryan in Sparta, the firm that Laddey's late father, Brian M. Laddey, co-founded with Ryan in 1989. Brian Laddey was a former Sussex County prosecutor, Sparta Township attorney and president of the Sussex County Bar Association who was recognized as a distinguished member of the bar. Laddey passed away in 2007. Ryan Laddey joined the legal profession as an associate in the tort and product liability practice of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani in New York. He graduated from Rutgers University Law School, and received a B.A. from Union College and an M.A. in environmental studies from Montclair State University. According to an announcement, he chose his father's law firm–and his father's partner–for his swearing in and was joined by another of his father's former partners, Andrew Fraser. He was surrounded by his family, including his wife, Ashima; his two children; his mother, Margaret B. Laddey, of Sparta; his brother, sister-in-law and other family members.
Bressler Amery Names Manning and Hensley Practice Co-Chairs
Diana C. Manning and Michael T. Hensley were named co-chairs of Bressler, Amery & Ross' business and commercial litigation practice, which has more than 40 attorneys and paralegals in the six offices. Manning and Hensley said in a statement: “We know each other well and we look forward to managing the practice, as well as helping clients face the challenges that often arise in litigation and at the appellate level.” Manning, based in the Florham Park, became a partner 2005. She is certified by the Supreme Court as a Civil Trial Attorney, and has more than 25 years of experience in complex civil litigation and appellate advocacy, including argument before the New Jersey Supreme Court. She chairs the District XA Ethics Committee, and is a New Jersey State Bar Association trustee, a director of the New Jersey Women Lawyers Association, and a past president of Trial Attorneys of New Jersey, the Morris County Bar Association, and the Morris County Bar Foundation. Manning received he J.D. in 1993 from Rutgers University Law School-Newark and a B.A. in 1990 from Rutgers College. Hensley, based in the New York and New
Jersey offices, is a trial attorney handling complex commercial, labor and employment, professional malpractice and environmental litigation. He is an active member of the New York State Bar Association's Commercial and Federal Litigation Section and sits on the Committee on the Commercial Division, and is also a member of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey. Hensley received a J.D. in 2001 from Seton Hall University School of Law and a B.A. in 1998 from the University of Delaware.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
