Lihotz to Receive NJSBA Family Law Section Award
The Archer law firm in Haddonfield announced that Marie E. Lihotz, of counsel and former presiding judge of the Appellate Division, will receive the 2019 Serpentelli Award presented by the Family Law Section of the New Jersey State Bar Association. The award recognizes lifelong and extraordinary contributions to the development of family law in the state, according to a release, and will be presented during the NJSBA annual meeting in Atlantic City on May 17, prior to the Family Law Section bench-bar meeting. Lihotz served 20 years in the Superior Court, including more than 11 years in the Appellate Division. She now concentrates on resolving legal disputes through mediation and arbitration, including family, business, estate and employment matters. She is past president and founding member of the Thomas S. Forkin Family Law American Inn of Court.
Freedman Elected President of Rutgers Living History Society
Stuart J. Freedman of Norris McLaughlin in Bridgewater, was elected president of the Rutgers Living History Society at the group's annual meeting in New Brunswick on April 26. Founded in 2002, the society was established to recognize those participating in or supporting oral history at Rutgers University and to generate enthusiasm and support for the practice of oral history at the university. Freedman has long been active in Rutgers University alumni activities: He served as president of the Rutgers Class of 1962, and was recognized by the Rutgers Alumni Association as a “Loyal Son of Rutgers” in 2012 for his distinguished service to the university. Freedman has substantial experience as a private practitioner and in-house counsel. Freedman earned his J.D., cum laude, from Columbia University in 1965, and his B.A., cum laude, Phi Beta Kappa, from Rutgers in 1962. He is a member of the New Jersey State and American bar associations.Bressler Amery Honored by Partners for Women and Justice
Florham Park-based Bressler, Amery & Ross received the “Partner in Justice” award on May 1 for its pro bono work on behalf of Partners For Women And Justice, a nonprofit organization providing free legal representation to low-income victims of domestic violence. Bressler was honored at the organization's annual spring benefit at Mayfair Farms in West Orange. The firm was recognized for its long-standing service and support of the organization. Bressler partner Amy Bard accepted the award on behalf of the firm. Other Bressler attorneys who have performed pro bono work for the organization include partner Sam Thomas , counsel Emily Borden s, and associates Mike Morri s, Ann Marie Effingham , Emily Rodriguez , Jeny Zarmon and Meghan Dougherty . According to the firm, about 400 people attended the event, many from the New Jersey legal community, including Diana Manning , David Schneider , Michael Ostrowsky , Keith McManus and Katie Gannon Bressler Amery.This content has been archived. J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls. Wolf of Gordon Rees Scully Mansukhani to fend off a pending breach-of-contract lawsuit. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
