Riker Danzig Makes Four Partners, Three Counsel
Morristown-based Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti announced the election of four new partners and the appointment of three new counsel.
Riker Danzig's newly-elected partners, effective Jan. 1:
Jeffrey M. Beyer practices in Riker Danzig's insurance and litigation groups. He focuses his practice on insurance coverage litigation and counseling, as well as complex commercial litigation and insurance defense matters involving personal and premises liability. He received his J.D. from Cornell Law School, cum laude, and earned his A.B. from Dartmouth College.
James M. Maggio Jr. practices in the firm's real estate and banking law groups. He represents clients in complex commercial real estate matters, including joint ventures, primarily handling multimillion-dollar transactions. Maggio also represents institutional lenders in complex financing transactions. Maggio graduated Seton Hall University School of Law, and earned his B.S., with honors, Beta Gamma Sigma, from Rutgers University. He clerked for Passaic County Superior Court Judge Ralph V. Martin.
Adam J. McInerney practices in the labor and employment group. He concentrates his practice on representation of companies and management-level employees in employment-related litigation in state and federal court, the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission and various state agencies. He earned his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law, and his B.A. from Fairfield University. He clerked for Appellate Division Judge Donald G. Collester Jr.
Stephen J. Pagano practices in the tax and trusts and estates department, concentrating on probate litigation and tax, trusts and estates matters. He utilizes his knowledge from years of estate, trust and tax planning to provide insight and strategy when representing clients in probate litigation, the firm said. Pagano received his J.D., cum laude, from Seton Hall University School of Law, and earned a B.A. in sociology from Boston College. He completed his LL.M. degree in tax law at New York University School of Law.

Diane N. Hickey practices in the governmental affairs and public utilities groups, handling municipal government matters, public contracting, highway access and land use law, and she has earned a diplomate certificate in Ne w Jersey local government law from the New Jersey Institute of Local Government Attorneys. Hickey received her law degree from Rutgers Law School–Newark, and graduated with highest honors from Rutgers College, where she was a member of Phi Beta Kappa, Phi Alpha Theta and Pi Sigma Alpha, and an Eagleton Institute of Politics undergraduate associate.
Brooks H. Leonard is in the insurance litigation group, focusing on insurance coverage and insurance defense, including representation of insurance companies as well as the defense of their insureds in a wide range of disputes, especially insurance coverage litigation and bad-faith/extra-contractual disputes. Leonard received his J.D. degree, magna cum laude , from Seton Hall University School of Law. He earned his B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. He clerked for Presiding Appellate Division Judge Mary Catherine Cuff .
Elected to counsel, effective Feb. 1:
Lauren N. Spitser is in the tax and trusts and estates department. She focuses her practice on all aspects of estate planning, estate administration and related tax issues. She also handles probate litigation, advising on various estate planning and tax issues that arise in the probate litigation context. She received her J.D., cum laude, from Brooklyn Law School. Spitser graduated from Lafayette College, cum laude, with a B.A. in economics and business/art.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

Yalowitz of Arnold & Porter Kaye Scholer have entered their appearances for Hanaco Venture Capital and its executives, Lior Prosor and David Frankel, in a pending securities lawsuit. The action, filed on Dec. 24 in New York Southern District Court by Zell, Aron & Co. on behalf of Goldeneye Advisors, accuses the defendants of negligently and fraudulently managing the plaintiff's $1 million investment. The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls.
