O'Toole Scrivo Fernandez Weiner Van Lieu in Cedar Grove brought on Jeffrey C. Maziarz as a partner in the insurance defense group. He was previously with Hoagland Longo Moran Dunst & Doukas in New Brunswick. Maziarz handles premises liability, products liability, wrongful-death claims, trucking and transportation, dram shop and social host liability, commercial litigation and loss of business due to landlord/tenant disputes, and automobile liability. He is a member of the New Jersey Defense Association, the Insurance Council of New Jersey Fraud Committee, and the New Brunswick Bar Association.
Weinstein Joins Scarinci Hollenbeck
Scarinci Hollenbeck added counsel Alyssa K. Weinstein to the labor and employment and government and education law practice groups in Red Bank. Weinstein represents individuals, businesses and public entities in various specialized matters. As part of the firm's government and education law practice, Weinstein will focus on the firm's special education law practice, led by Nathanya G. Simon and Carolyn R. Chaudry . “I am very excited to be bringing my experience over to the firm. This is the perfect opportunity for me to showcase my skill set as a member of a well-regarded law group of which I am delighted to be a part,” said Weinstein in a statement issued by the firm.
Young Rejoins Mandelbaum Salsburg
Mandelbaum Salsburg in Roseland announced that Gary S. Young rejoined the corporate and ERISA practice groups as a partner. He has more than 40 years' experience and focuses on ERISA, employee benefits, and executive compensation, as well as assisting businesses and individuals with drafting business-formation contracts and documents, and advising on tax audit rules, the firm said. Young earned his B.A. from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. from Brooklyn Law School. He is admitted in New Jersey and New York. He was previously a partner at the firm from 1999-2008. “I am excited to have rejoined Mandelbaum Salsburg and to help the firm continue its corporate practice expansion,” said Young in a statement.
Riker Danzig Welcomes Two Associates
Morristown-based Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti welcomed two new associates.
Labinot Alexander Berlajolli is an associate in the commercial litigation group. He previously served as deputy attorney general of affirmative civil enforcement at the state Division of Law from 2012-2016 and 2017-2019. Berlajolli also acted as both lead and co-lead in federal/state multistate investigations of data breaches. From 2016-2017, he was assistant counsel, authorities unit, for the administration of Gov. Chris Christie. Berlajolli received his J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2011. He graduated from Seton Hall University in 2004 with an M.A. in international relations. He received his B.A. in economics from Montclair State University in 2002. Berlajolli was a pro bono clerk for U.S. Magistrate Judge Cathy L. Waldor of the District of New Jersey.
Latoya Caprice Dawkins is an associate in the health-care and commercial litigation groups. Dawkins earned her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2017, with a concentration in health law. She graduated from Columbia University Graduate School of Arts & Sciences in 2012 with an M.A. in English and comparative literature. Dawkins received her B.A. in English from Pennsylvania State University in 2000. Dawkins previously was an associate at a national boutique health-care law firm, where she advised a variety of providers and entities in the health-care and life sciences areas.
