The New Jersey Commission on Professionalism in the Law is soliciting nominations for the Daniel J. O'Hern Award and the Charles J. Hollenbeck Award. The awards, which will be presented at a luncheon this fall at the Imperia in Somerset, recognize members of the legal community who have demonstrated the highest standards of professionalism in practice.

The Daniel J. O'Hern Award is presented annually to an attorney who is a well-respected member of the legal community and exhibits integrity, competence, high ethical standards, career achievement and service to the bar and/or community. It honors O'Hern, a retired associate judge of the New Jersey Supreme Court, who died in 2009.

The Hollenbeck Award is presented to an attorney employed in government or by a nonprofit legal services organization who has served the legal profession with diligence, competence and dedication. The nominee must be licensed to practice law in New Jersey.

The award's namesake, Charles J. Hollenbeck, dedicated most of his nearly 40-year career as an attorney to improving the quality of legal services throughout New Jersey. He served as the Commission on Professionalism's executive director from its inception until his retirement in 2014.
