If it feels like your office is being overtaken by mountains of paper, the New Jersey State Bar Association is here to help. Or at least help you whittle those mountains down to molehills.

We're holding a shredding party from 9-11 a.m. (or until the truck is full) July 13 at the New Jersey Law Center in New Brunswick.

Safe Shredding LLC will be on hand with their mobile destruction trucks, capable of shredding 100 pounds per minute. The trucks can hold up to 10,000 pounds and are capable of shredding documents stapled or bound by clips, as well as  binders and books.

Members may bring up to 10 boxes for shredding. The cost is $2 for each small box (one-cubic-foot storage box, 12 inches by 15 inches; approx. 30 lbs.) and $4 for each large box (two-cubic-feet storage box, 15 inches by 24 inches; approx. 50 lbs.).

Bags of paper are discouraged, but will be accepted at the rate of $5 per small bag and $10 per large bag.

Privacy Is Important

In addition to reducing the clutter in your office, shredding documents also helps protect your clients' and employees' privacy. Safe Shredding will use all possible safety and security measures when shredding documents, and will provide a certificate of destruction to any member who requires one.

The event is for NJSBA members only. Register at NJSBA.com under “Events.”

The NJSBA will hold another shredding party Oct. 5.
