Chiesa Shahinian & Giantomasi in West Orange has added three new hires to its executive management team from Am Law 200 firms this year, including most recently a new marketing and business development chief.
The firm on July 8 brought on Dawn Afanador as director of marketing & business development.
Afanador's addition follows mid-June hire of Hany Moussa as director of information technology.
Victor Emma joined as director of facilities & operations in February.
Daniel A. Schwartz, managing partner of the firm, said the new hires were strategic for the firm's future growth.
“CSG is continuing to attract top-flight legal talent, having added 16 new attorneys in the past two months,” Schwartz said by phone on July 12. “The fact that we were now able to attract experienced executives from leading Am Law 200 firms to our administrative team—all of them accomplished leaders in their own right—demonstrates our commitment to smart growth and strategy that will help our attorneys to continue to provide the highest quality legal services that our clients have come to expect from us.”
Afanador has more than 18 years of experience in legal marketing, having previously served as the chief marketing officer and marketing manager for two Am Law 200 firms: Gibbons and Lowenstein Sandler. She earned her B.A. from Drew University and is a past recipient of the Executive Women of New Jersey's “Salute to the Policymaker Award.”
Moussa joined from Cooley's New York City office, where he oversaw the day-to-day technical operations and information services systems for more than 300 users, and served as a member of Cooley's global information technology group. He was previously with Dentons and Patterson Belknap Webb & Tyler. Moussa received his B.A. from Alexandria University in Alexandria, Egypt.
Joining Chiesa Shahinian from Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton, Emma has 25 years of corporate facilities management experience and, according to the firm, built a track record of maximizing efficiency and productivity through effective oversight of operations, relocations, budgets and other projects. Emma received his B.S. from Saint Vincent College.
