Genova Burns Promotes Two to Counsel
Genova Burns in Newark announced the promotion of associates Erica M. Clifford and Maria R. Fruci to of counsel. They “are both accomplished law professionals and have repeatedly brought distinction upon themselves and on the firm,” said chairman and managing partner Angelo J. Genova in a statement.
Clifford is a member of the employment law and litigation and human resource counseling and compliance practice groups. She advises private and public sector clients. Her primary role is as a litigator defending her clients against claims of discrimination, harassment, hostile work environment, and retaliation in state and federal court and before administrative agencies. She also conducts internal workplace investigations and counsels human resources executives and management on pre-litigation issues regarding employee discipline, terminations, reasonable accommodations and leaves of absence. She has defended public entities against claims of personal injury, premises liability, civil rights violations and employment-related claims.
Fruci is a member of the complex commercial litigation, class action defense, intellectual property, and mediation and alternative dispute resolution practices. She regularly representing individuals, and public and private entities, in complex commercial disputes, trademark protection and litigations, mediations and arbitrations, from initial stages through trial and appeal. Her clients include startup companies, family-owned and small businesses, entrepreneurs, and large contractors. She is often tapped to serve as their outside general counsel. Fruci also represents individual clients in divorce and post-judgment matters.
Itri Joins Seeger Weiss as Partner
Seeger Weiss announced that litigator Shauna B. Itri, previously a partner at Berger Montague, joined as a partner. She is a seasoned litigator of complex fraud cases in state and federal courts, the firm noted in announcing her hire. Her nationwide practice has focused on representing plaintiffs in class actions, including securities, consumer and government fraud; in antitrust claims; and in cases involving patient harm. Itri also represents whistleblowers in False Claims Act litigation, and under the IRS and SEC whistleblower programs. Itri will be resident in Seeger Weiss’ Philadelphia office. Itri received a dual B.A. degree and M.A. degree from Stanford University. She received her J.D. from Villanova University School of Law, where she was editor-in-chief of the Villanova Law School Sports and Entertainment Law Journal. Itri has also served as an adjunct professor at Villanova, teaching on white collar crime and corporate deviance. She also teaches a course on corporate deviance at Widener University.
Norris McLaughlin Welcomes LaBarbiera as Partner
Norris McLaughlin in Bridgewater welcomed Leonard A. LaBarbiera to the real estate and finance group as a partner. He previously was special counsel to Windels Marx Lane & Mittendorf and served as associate general counsel at MTB Banking Corp. LaBarbiera focuses on real estate and finance matters, with an emphasis on affordable housing, representing nonprofit and for-profit developers, and financial institutions. He has experience with tax-exempt bond financing, low-income housing tax credits, and Section 8, and other HUD issues. LaBarbiera also handles commercial transactions utilizing tax-exempt lease financing structures and regularly represents developers in the construction and development of residential and commercial properties through the use of government grants, historic tax credits, and new markets tax credits. He earned his B.A., Phi Beta Kappa, from Rutgers University in 1980, his M.B.A. from Columbia University in 1982, and his J.D. from Fordham University School of Law in 1988.
Eicher Joins Blank Rome as Of Counsel
Blank Rome announced that Holly L. Eicher joined the Princeton and Philadelphia offices as of counsel in the corporate litigation and gaming groups. She comes from American Racing and Entertainment LLC, where she served as regional director of compliance and legal counsel. Eicher has more than 20 years of legal and operational management experience in the gaming and hospitality industries, including handling legal, regulatory, and operational issues involving casinos, hotels, restaurants, retail, and entertainment venues, the firm said. She focuses on providing compliance counsel for domestic and multinational corporations, as well as government agencies. She has handled matters involving labor relations; employment discrimination; union certification and collective bargaining; risk management; workers compensation; personal injury; real estate; and general litigation. She is admitted to practice in New Jersey, Pennsylvania and Nevada. She also has held gaming, lottery and racing licenses. She earned her J.D. from Duquesne University School of Law, and her M.B.A. and B.S. from Franciscan University.

J. Brugh Lower of Gibbons has entered an appearance for industrial equipment supplier Devco Corporation in a pending trademark infringement lawsuit. The suit, accusing the defendant of selling knock-off Graco products, was filed Dec. 18 in New Jersey District Court by Rivkin Radler on behalf of Graco Inc. and Graco Minnesota. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Zahid N. Quraishi, is 3:24-cv-11294, Graco Inc. et al v. Devco Corporation.

The suit, filed Dec. 11 in New York Southern District Court by Bleichmar Fonti & Auld, accuses the defendants of concealing the bank's 'pervasive' deficiencies in regards to its compliance with the Bank Secrecy Act and the quality of its anti-money laundering controls. The court action, filed Nov. 25 in Michigan Eastern District Court by Hooper Hathaway PC on behalf of The Town Residences LLC, accuses Crown Castle of failing to transfer approximately $30,000 in utility payments from T-Mobile in breach of a roof-top lease and assignment agreement.
