As teams across the National Football League are making final decisions on their 53-man rosters, the New York Jets firmed up its front office by promoting its longtime general counsel to be the team’s president.

Hymie Elhai is succeeding Neil Glat, whom the Jets announced Friday is transitioning to a new role as a senior adviser. He will also work with head coach Adam Gase and general manager Joe Douglas to integrate business and football operations.
