Karol Corbin Walker Joins Kaufman Dolowich

Karol Corbin Walker joined Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck in Hackensack as a partner in the business, commercial and employment litigation practice. Walker has 30 years of experience, and was the first African American president of the New Jersey State Bar Association in 2003 and the first known African American woman to attain partner status at a major New Jersey law firm. She previously was a shareholder at LeClairRyan in Newark. Walker's practice focuses on defense of employment discrimination, sexual harassment and retaliation matters. In 2012, she was the first African American woman to serve as president of the National Conference of Bar Presidents, and in 2015, she became the first African American president of the Association of the Federal Bar of New Jersey. Walker earned her B.A. with honors from New Jersey City University and her J.D. from Seton Hall University School of Law. "I have known a number of the Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck attorneys in New Jersey for more than a decade," said Walker in a statement. Morristown-based Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti brought on fall associates Jessica K. Formichella, Adam Garrastegui and Jennifer Winkler. They join associate Anthony K. Lombardo, who started with Riker Danzig on July 22. 

Formichella joined the insurance and reinsurance group. she received her J.D., cum laude, in 2017 from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she served as the executive editor of the Seton Hall Legislative Journal. She graduated with a B.A. degree, magna cum laude, from Seton Hall University in 2014. Formichella clerked for U.S. District Judge Peter G. Sheridan of the District of New Jersey in Trenton. Prior to that, she clerked for Presiding Appellate Division Judge Jose L. Fuentes. She is licensed in New Jersey.

Garrastegui joined the bankruptcy and reorganization group. Garrastegui received his J.D./M.B.A. from Rutgers Law School and Rutgers Business School in 2018, with a certificate in corporate and business law. He graduated with a B.S. degree in 2013 from Rutgers Business School. Prior to joining Riker Danzig, Garrastegui was a law clerk to U.S. Bankruptcy Judge John K. Sherwood of the District of New Jersey. He is licensed to practice in New Jersey.

Lombardo joined the litigation group in July. He received his J.D in 2019 from Fordham University School of Law, where he was the notes & articles editor of the Fordham Environmental Law Review. He graduated from the University of Scranton in 2015. During law school, Lombardo was a pro bono scholar and a year-long member of Fordham's Criminal Defense Clinic. He interned for U.S. Bankruptcy Judge John K. Sherwood of the District of New Jersey and New York Supreme Court Justice Gerald Lebovits. Lombardo was a Riker Danzig summer associate in 2018. He is licensed in New York.

Winkler joins the products liability, toxic tort and mass tort group. Winkler received her law degree in 2019 from Seton Hall University School of Law, where she served as the managing editor of the Seton Hall Law Review. She graduated with a B.A., magna cum laude, from The College of New Jersey in 2016. Winkler started her career at Riker Danzig as a summer associate in 2018.

Lindabury, McCormick, Estabrook & Cooper in Westfield announced that Donald C. Pierce, a firm summer associate, joined the firm as a full associate in the litigation practice. He received his J.D. from Rutgers Law School in 2019 and holds a B.A. in economics from Rutgers University. Prior to attending law school, Pierce served in the U.S. Army, 82nd Airborne Division, stationed at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, as an infantry officer, first lieutenant from 2013-16. In addition to leading his infantry platoon, he authored memorandums, conducted interviews, and researched military law while performing investigations under the Uniform Code of Military Justice, according to a firm release. He also instructed Iraqi Counter-Terrorism Service officers and led security operations throughout a nine-month deployment to Iraq.

Clark will focus on all aspects of personal injury, including legal strategies and tactics to help injured clients obtain a favorable settlement or prepare for a jury trial, the firm said. Clark received her J.D., magna cum laude, from Rutgers Law School in 2018, and her B.A., summa cum laude,from William Paterson University in 2014. Upon graduating from law school, Clark clerked for New Jersey Superior Court Judge David H. Ironson  in the Law Division. She is a member of the New Jersey Bar Association and the Warren County Bar Association.  |

Morais Law of Moorestown welcomed Ashley Q. Rotchford as junior partner.  Morais Law is a WBENC-certified, woman-owned law firm specializing in U.S. immigration and nationality law. Rotchford will counsel clients on a range of employment-based immigration matters. She joins the firm following her clerkship for Presiding Civil Judge Steven J. Polansky of the Camden County Superior. Court. A graduate of Temple University Beasley School of Law with honors (May 2018), she was a member of the Rubin Public Interest Law Society, a student fellow for the Institute for International Law and Public Policy and an editor of the Temple Law Review. Rotchford also was an active advocate for the rights of immigrants while in law school, the firm said. She was a member of the Student Public Interest Network and Temple's National Lawyers Guild, where she served as co-president and chair of its Immigration and Human Rights Committee. She also participated in Temple's Social Justice Lawyering Clinic, helping create policies and procedures for school boards dealing with immigration authorities, and helping draft a resolution, passed by the Philadelphia City Council, recognizing the rights of undocumented restaurant workers. She interned at the Philadelphia Immigration Court and at nonprofit organizations.
