Mandelbaum Salsburg Participates in Alzheimer's Walk

"Team Mandelbaum" of Roseland-based Mandelbaum Salsburg participated in the Alzheimer NJ's "Walk to Fight Alzheimer's" on Sept. 15, 2019. The walk was held at the College of St. Elizabeth in Morristown, and the firm raised more than $1,500, it said in a release. The event was chaired by Amy Nealy, the client care coordinator for the New Jersey Elder Law Center at Mandelbaum Salsburg. The team of attorneys and staff joined with other teams to raise money and awareness in honor of loved ones who have suffered from Alzheimer's. According to the firm, every member of the team has known, loved and cared for a family member with Alzheimer's, and they wore their loved ones' names on their shirt backs. The team also walked to honor clients, the firm added.

Riker Danzig Scherer Hyland & Perretti honored executive assistant LaVerne Holloway for 50 years of service with a celebratory reception, with her family as special guests, on Sept. 25 in the administrative center of the firm's office at Headquarters Plaza in Morristown. Holloway started with Riker Danzig in Newark, and worked for the late Judge Dickinson Debevoise and the late William Hyland, former state attorney general, among others, during her career, the firm noted in its release. Riker Danzig co-managing partner Lance J. Kalik said in a statement: "We admire LaVerne's loyalty, hard work and constant good humor. She has been a dedicated Riker Danzig employee, and we appreciate her five decades of outstanding service to the firm."

Mints To Chair NJSBA Cannabis Committee

Capehart Scatchard in Mount Laurel announced that Sheila M. Mints , chair of the firm's cannabis law practice, was appointed by the New Jersey State Bar Association to its Cannabis Law Special Committee. According to the NJSBA, the mission of the special committee is to bring together a group of attorneys who examine legal issues—including civil, business and criminal—that stem from medical, and potential consumer access to, cannabis. Mints counsels businesses, public entities, and entrepreneurs interested in entering the cannabis market. She also chairs the health-care law practice at Capehart, and specializes in transactional matters, including shareholder and employment agreements, purchases and sales of medical practices, and practice mergers.
