Javerbaum Wurgaft Welcomes Rait as Partner and Executive Director
Javerbaum Wurgaft Hicks Kahn Wikstrom & Sinins Mitchell Rait as partner and executive director. Rait previously was a partner and chief operating officer at Budd Larner in Short Hills. At Javerbaum Wurgaft, he will oversee business operations and assist in strategic growth, according to the release. He is a former trustee of the New Jersey Association of Legal Administrators and a past president of the New York Legal Marketing Association. He earned his J.D. from St. John's University School of Law and his B.S. from New York University Stern School of Business. Managing partner Eric Kahn said in a statement that Rait "brings to Javerbaum Wurgaft decades of law firm industry knowledge to help best serve our clients. In addition to administering and marketing our firm, Mitch is a seasoned lawyer with well-rounded experience in employment law and other practice areas." |
Adams Joins Greenbaum Rowe as Litigation Partner
Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis in Woodbridge announced that Christopher D. Adams joined as a partner in the litigation department. Adams handles criminal defense, internal investigations, attorney ethics and disciplinary proceedings, as well as complex commercial litigation. He now chairs the firm's criminal defense and regulatory compliance practice group, which handles cases of alleged financial fraud, corruption, violations of the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, breaches of fiduciary duty and environmental violations. "I am thrilled to become a partner at a firm with such an outstanding legacy," said Adams in a statement issued by the firm. "I'm excited to join my new colleagues as creative and committed advocates for the individuals and businesses we represent." |
Two Join WIlentz Goldman
Two attorneys have recently joined Wilentz, Goldman & Spitzer in the firm's Woodbridge office.
Robert Beckelman joined the redevelopment, land use and real estate practices as a partner. Beckelman for almost 20 years has represented developers, property owners and municipalities throughout New Jersey in connection with land use and zoning, redevelopment, and affordable housing matters, as well as in related litigation and appeals, the firm said. He has represented clients undertaking redevelopment projects, including litigation related to those projects, as well as other redevelopment and land use litigation. Beckelman previously was with Greenbaum Rowe Smith & Davis, where he was a partner in the redevelopment and land use practice.
Joshua S. Kincannon joined the mass tort/class action practice as counsel. Kincannon has a record of securing recoveries for victims of defective medical device implants throughout the country, the firm said. He has served as lead counsel in multicounty litigation over surgical mesh and hip implants in New Jersey, the firm added. At Wilentz, Kincannon will continue to represent clients injured by defective medical devices and pharmaceutical drugs, and in class actions. He received his J.D. from Rutgers Law School-Camden in 2000, and his B.A. in economics from Rowan University in 1997. |

Sills Cummis & Gross in Newark announced that Michael S. Carucci and Cecilia I. Lassiter were promoted to partner, and Jeffrey A. Wendler was promoted to of counsel, as of Oct. 1.

The case, filed Oct. 2 in Massachusetts District Court by the Brown Law Firm on behalf of Stephen Austen, accuses certain officers and directors of misleading investors in regard to Symbotic's potential for margin growth by failing to disclose that the company was not equipped to timely deploy its systems or manage expenses through project delays. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Nathaniel M. Gorton, is 1:24-cv-12522, Austen v. Cohen et al.

Edmund Polubinski and Marie Killmond of Davis Polk & Wardwell have entered appearances for data platform software development company MongoDB and other defendants in a pending shareholder derivative lawsuit. The action, filed Oct. 7 in New York Southern District Court by the Brown Law Firm, accuses the company's directors and/or officers of falsely expressing confidence in the company’s restructuring of its sales incentive plan and downplaying the severity of decreases in its upfront commitments. The case is 1:24-cv-07594, Roy v. Ittycheria et al.

The suit was filed Sept. 7 in Wisconsin Western District Court by Levine Eisberner LLC and Siri & Glimstad on behalf of a project manager who claims that he was wrongfully terminated after applying for a religious exemption to the defendant's COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The case, assigned to U.S. Magistrate Judge Anita Marie Boor, is 3:24-cv-00630, Secker, Nathan v. Epic Systems Corporation.

David X. Sullivan, Thomas J. Finn and Gregory A. Hall from McCarter & English have entered appearances for Sunrun Installation Services in a pending civil rights lawsuit. The complaint was filed Sept. 4 in Connecticut District Court by attorney Robert M. Berke on behalf of former employee George Edward Steins, who was arrested and charged with employing an unregistered home improvement salesperson. The complaint alleges that had Sunrun informed the Connecticut Department of Consumer Protection that the plaintiff's employment had ended in 2017 and that he no longer held Sunrun's home improvement contractor license, he would not have been hit with charges, which were dismissed in May 2024. The case, assigned to U.S. District Judge Jeffrey A. Meyer, is 3:24-cv-01423, Steins v. Sunrun, Inc. et al.
